2017 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition
2014 Zinfandel, Florence Vineyard | Gold
The San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition (SFCWC), the largest wine competition of American wines in the world with around 7,000 entries in 2017, has traditionally been the first competition of the year. Judges are selected throughout the major American wine regions to offer a diversity of backgrounds to each judging panel. There is major outreach of award recognition through a 30+ page special wine award section of the San Francisco Chronicle newspaper. The SFCWC is one of the few competitions that offer plaque awards for silver, gold, and higher, for tasting room and winery outreach purposes. The San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition Public Tasting at Fort Mason Center in February for award winning wineries is an opportunity to showcase wines to over 5,000 consumers in the Bay Area.
