This is a classic Cabernet Sauvignon from Alexander Valley—quite intense and complex, and at the same time possessing a mouth-coating, velvety, sensuous texture. It is certainly one of our favorite wines from an exceptional hillside vineyard—the Todd Brothers Ranch—in the Geyserville region of Alexander Valley.
This is our first release of Cabernet—actually a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petite Verdot and Malbec—and it drinks like a fine Bordeaux. It plays complex chords of chocolate, blackberry, cassis, vanilla and spice, both in the nose and on the palate. Pairs beautifully with long-cooked lamb, rare duck, wintry dishes.
Our Cabernet Sauvignon from the Todd Brothers Ranch in Alexander Valley is a classic Cabernet done in an old world—i.e. from the Bordeaux region of France—style. It exhibits all of the intensity and complexity of Alexander Valley Cabernet, but with a very balanced, elegant style that is reminiscent of a European wine
The Cabernet Sauvignon vines on the Todd Brothers Ranch—located in the steep hills of Geyserville—produce a classic Bordeau-style wine, with intense fruit, great structure, and full tannins that respond beautifully to extended bottle age. It exhibits all of the intensity and complexity of Alexander Valley Cabernet, but with a very balanced, elegant style that is reminiscent of a European wine.
For those who like your Cabernet Sauvignon black, brooding, rich and with plenty of tannin, the Dashe Cellars 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley is for you. As these vines have aged, they grapes they produce have developed a depth of flavor and a structure that is quite unusual for a Cabernet from this region.
These old, rugged Cabernet Sauvignon vines grown on the Todd Brothers Ranch in Alexander Valley are some of our favorite vines on the property and produce a classic Bordeaux-style wine.
